Geoff Curtiss
The Rev. Geoffrey Curtiss has been engaged in community organizing for the past 60 years, particularly through the Industrial Areas Foundation. Now retired from serving parishes in the Diocese of Newark, he continues to serve as an assisting priest at Trinity Episcopal Church in Asbury Park, NJ.
Deeply committed to the intersections of local and global justice issues, Geoff served as longtime president of the Episcopal Network for Economic Justice and as a board member of the Episcopal Urban Caucus, working for food security, fair housing, and post-prison reentry; alongside solidarity work with Palestine and El Salvador.
Geoff’s interests in the dignity of every human being has led him to resist both Christian Nationalism and Christian Zionism. This comes from his interest in both liberation theology and contextual ministry. He is now working to organize statewide EPF network as well as a Friends of Sabeel North America chapter in New Jersey.
