Martha Gardner

For almost 30 years, Martha has been involved as a lay professional or volunteer with the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.  Martha Gardner’s professional career with the Episcopal Church began with her work in the Peace & Justice Office in the churchwide offices, followed by her role as Director of Programs in the Anglican Communion United Nations Office (New York.) After eight years on the staff of the Church Pension Group, Martha served as Missioner for Networking and Formation in the Diocese of Massachusetts, from 2018 until her retirement in 2024.

Martha currently serves on the steering committee of the Anglican Peace & Justice Network.  From 2018-2024 Martha chaired the Episcopal Church’s Standing Commission on World Mission and during this triennium (2025-2027), she is chairing the Episcopal Church’s Task Force on the Anglican Communion and Countering the Colonial Mindset.  Martha was a deputy from the Diocese of Newark to four General Conventions, and served on the Episcopal Church’s Executive Council from 2009-2015.  Martha served on EPF’s NEC almost 20 years ago, and is happy to serve our Fellowship once again in this capacity.
